April 12, 2013

Letter To:

Editor, Hyde Park Herald

Dear Mr. Piemonte,

Glass Designers Inc is a City of Chicago certified MBE/DBE glazing contractor located

on the south side of Chicago.

Our firm has completed several projects in the Hyde Park community (Borders Renovation,

Theological Center, Hyde Park Retail Building, Lab School, Oakwood Shores Apt, and Bright Horizons).

We are currently working on the Harper Court project and hope to get an opportunity to bid on

the Mesa Development project.  Such jobs as Mesa are critical to the continual  growth of all companies,

and will create a work environment that maximizes the potential of all employees.

The project will generate approximately 300 union paying jobs, which will equal to approx

275 thousand hours of labor work.  Mesa has committed to goals of 25% minority owned business

participation, 5% women owned business participation and community hiring.

We thank Alderman Burns for his continuing support, his promoting diversity hiring and his affirmative action

efforts so that everyone can have equal access to employment opportunities in his ward.  All projects in the

past that has been supported by Alderman Burns have brought economic benefits to the community.

We Remain

John Luckett
