Vue53: Impressed By the Plans

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

Thank you for spending the time this evening.  The re-development plans for 53rd street (Mobil Station and adjacent vacant lot) are exciting complete and well thought through.  I have lived in (born here) the neighborhood most of my life.  I have seen Hyde Park’s ups and downs and this is definitely one of the ups.

This development seems like it will be a solid anchor for the West end of the street—something it really needs.  I am impressed by the plan which seems to me to be designed to make best use of the space while blending in (and complementing) with its surroundings.   Further, I buy into the contention that the development will add to the neighborhood (reason for people to be their during the evening and providing additional high quality retail) without adding to congestion—the traffic analysis was compelling.

I look forward to the development and the benefits it promises.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist as you move forward.
