Hyde Park’s Vue53: 10 Things to Know

 

1.    Mobil Station and adjacent car at 1330 E. 53rd Street will close on August 12, 2013.

2.    Mesa Development, LLC plans to begin work to remove the underground gas storage tanks from the Mobil site on August 13, 2013.

3.    The parking lot east of the Mobil gas station will remain temporarily available during the removal of the storage tanks.

4.    Drivers should expect delays throughout the 53rd Street corridor the week beginning August 12th as construction crews will still be working on parts of Harper Court. Drivers should consider alternate routes when available.

5.    Pedestrian traffic aka walkers are asked to walk on the Nichols Park side of 53rd Street and obey all safety construction signs.

6.    Residential spaces at Vue53 will be upscale rental units not condos.  Vue53 will include more than 250 rental units and 200+ parking spaces.

7.    Vue53 is not utilizing taxpayers dollars or public subsidy.  However it will bring an estimated $7.7 million in additional revenue to the 53rd Street Tax Increment Financing district.

8.    There will only be a handful of retail store opportunities. Interested businesses should make their interests known immediately.

9.    Construction of Vue53 is expected to begin in early 2014.
