GHNA Launches Energy Efficiency Program for Businesses

The South East Chicago Commission Partners with the Peoples Gas Natural Gas Savings Program for the GHNA Energy Efficiency Program for Businesses

The South East Chicago Commission (SECC) is excited to announced our new partnership with the Peoples Gas Natural Gas Savings Program to launch the Green Healthy Neighborhoods in Action’s (GHNA) Energy Efficiency Business Reimbursement Program. Funded by the Searle Funds of The Chicago Community Trust, the program will offer free energy efficiency assessments to businesses in Woodlawn and Washington Park communities. These assessments will identify natural gas saving opportunities and rebates available to pursue natural gas savings projects.  Some examples include: high efficiency heating equipment, high efficiency water heaters, ceiling insulation, etc. Business that complete an assessment and apply for additional assistance may receive small reimbursable upgrade grants from the SECC. The program is designed to assist businesses in Woodlawn and Washington Park communities become more energy efficient, reduce operating costs and reinvent the savings in businesses. The SECC will provide small reimbursable grant assistance to businesses, churches, community organizations and other established businesses.
