Congratulations to the 2015 Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Projects

On behalf of the South East Chicago Commission, we wish to congratulate all of the 2015 Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Awardees on the completions of their projects!

The 2015 completed projects are as follows:

  • Blacks In Green: raised beds for community and vegetable garden (Woodlawn)
  • Elm Park Advisory Council: improvements to park’s floral beds (Hyde Park)
  • Greenline Coffee: outdoor seating area and streetscape beautification (Woodlawn)
  • MetroSquash: beautification and landscaping along 61st Street (Woodlawn)
  • Oakwood Boulevard Neighbors Association: landscape improvements on boulevard (Oakland)
  • Ray School: removal of dead trees and installation of new saplings (Hyde Park)
  • Sunshine Gospel Ministries: landscaping and benches to create community space (Woodlawn)
  • Urban Juncture: shading and additions to the Bronzeville Bike Box (Washington Park)
  • William Hill Gallery: botanical garden and paths in city lot (Woodlawn)

For sixteen years, the South East Chicago Commission and University of Chicago has committed to support groups in the Oakland, Kenwood, Hyde Park, Woodlawn, and Washington Park communities. This is a great opportunity for all of us to work together as community partners to improve the aesthetics of our neighborhoods, strengthen civic pride, and enhance the quality of our urban living.
