Green Health Neighborhoods Approved by City

GHN plan.  Chicago's Green Healthy Neighborhoods plan was approved by the City Plan Commission yesterday.  The plan -- developed for the neighborhoods of Englewood, Washington Park, and Woodlawn by the City's Department of Planning and Development through CMAP's Local Technical Assistance program with support from LISC/Chicago, Teamwork Englewood, the South East Chicago Commission, and Washington Park Consortium -- includes a Large Lot program that allows homeowners, block clubs, and nonprofit groups in Englewood to buy City-owned land for $1 per parcel.  Read more in the Huffington Post, Chicago Sun-Times, DNA Info, and Curbed Chicago.
