Green Healthy Neighborhoods Rain Garden Opens in Washington Park
Did you miss the new Green Healthy Neighborhoods Rain Garden Opening? On Tuesday September 19th, the new garden, located behind the Art Incubator at 301 East Garfield Blvd, opened to the community. The rain garden was supported by the South East Chicago Commission's Green Healthy Neighborhoods program of the Chicago Community Trust Searle Funds, Southwest Airlines' Heart of the Community program, and Project for Public Spaces. Music was provided by DJ Selah Say and a special performance by the band Yaw Agyeman. The new green space allows for the expansion of arts programming at the Arts Incubator and provides a community space in Washington Park for local businesses and community organizations.
