William H Ray School Celebrates 57th Street Improvements

Monday, September 28, 2015

On Thursday September 24th, Ray Elementary celebrated its new garden facing 57th Street. The garden now features perennial plants and new grass landscaping to beautify the Ray campus, as well as the corner of 57th and Kimbark. The Ray Elementary School Garden Committee has worked with Brickman Group to complete this project. This project was funded in part by the SECC's Neighborhood Enhancement Grant and with the partnership of the University of Chicago Office of Civic Engagement.

Expect more streetscape improvements along 57th Street. The parkways along the north side of the street at Kenwood and at Harper are receiving new walkways so visitors do not have to step into a muddy parkway after parking their car.
