Winter Weather Concerns for Monday, Jan 6th

Sunday, January 05, 2014

Happy New Year.  We hope you had a wonderful holiday season.  Our 2014 has arrived with great hopes and winter wonderland.  The snow keeps on falling and so do the temperatures.

As the temperatures continue to drop to unsafe levels, we encourage our entire community to take appropriate precautions.  Be safe.

  1. Only venture out into the cold if it is a necessity.
  2. Drive wisely with completely cleaned windows and windshields.
  3. Check on older individuals or those that may not be able to help themselves.
  4. Don't over exert yourself shoveling snow.  Ask for help if you need it.
  5. Be extremely careful about space heaters.
  6. And bundle up, keeping exposed skin to a minimum.

If you need help or know someone that needs a wellness check,
call the City of Chicago at 311.
