Small Business Saturday 2019
Shopping locally at small businesses in our neighborhoods (1) helps maintain the diversity of stores on the mid-south side, (2) builds strong neighborhoods, (3) creates jobs, (4) provides funds for more City services through sales tax, and (5) promotes community development.
Supported by Bank of America and PNC Bank, South East Chicago Commission’s 2019 Shop Local campaign is a collaboration with Downtown Hyde Park (SSA #61), 51st Street Business Association, Quad Communities Development Corporation and Washington Park Chamber of Commerce.
SECC launched this year’s Shop Local campaign with 56 small businesses, encouraging shoppers to support Southeast lakefront Chicago neighborhoods during the holiday season. The eight-day campaign begins on November 30, Small Business Saturday, and continues through December 7. Shoppers are invited to enter the grand prize drawing to win a $500 shopping spree.
